Chambered Doctor Blades
Chambered Doctor Blade systems from Absolute Engineering.
Absolute Engineering, the only supplier of Woven Carbon Fibre Chambered Doctor Blade
systems, is experiencing significant increases in sales of it's unique carbon fibre
chambered doctor blade.
Sales into flexible packaging are also expanding, with successful installations
on Comexi and Windmoeller and Hoelsher flexopresses. During February the company
also upgraded a full machine for one of the UK's premier flexible packaging companies.
Antony Whiteside of Absolute commented " as is normal, the customer ordered
one unit, and was so impressed by the system that they went on to convert the whole
machine. "
Further developments at Absolute look set to increase this success still further.
IPEX will be used as the Worldwide Launch for Absolutes brand new I-MAX ink maximisation
system. This patented system extracts 90% of the remaining ink from the chamber
at the end of a print job, regardless of width, in seconds.
Massive quantities of ink are lost during job changeover as wasted ink is flushed
away in an attempt to speed up job changeovers. Unfortunately, this results in tremendous
on-costs as wash water must now be cleaned, before the inert crumb is eventually
disposed. All the costs of this process must be absorbed by the printer.
With Absolute's I-MAX system 90% of this previously wasted ink can be reused, providing
an opportunity for huge savings in addition to significantly quicker washdown times.
Absolute believe that this system is a massive improvement over traditional wash
cycles, which simply concentrate on colour change times. With I-MAX, ink in the
system is reduced by 90%, making the subsequent wash much quicker, whilst allowing
the recovered ink to be reused. This results in a significantly improved payback.
